I like tea and cakes for tea and cake time...
Today, I went to lunch with one of our firm's project managers (for whom I am currently editing a technical report). We went to a local tearoom called "Tea at the Gallery," which is a personal favorite of mine. This past weekend, I received a lovely gift of appreciation from the Lexington office, which consisted of a $25 Master Card gift card. Since my afternoon tea was courtesy of the project manager today, I used my gift card to purchase my new favorite thing. It is an "ipot" tea pot. This picture is of the exact tea pot I got. But of course you already knew that, seeing as how the pot in the picture is PURPLE. I love it. The perfect pot for brewing my Monkey Picked tea!!!

This is cool!
I just heard about this new Book Crossing phenomenon. It's kind of neat to try and see where all these books are going and who finds them/where. I know it's geeky and bookish, but then again I guess that I am essentially "geeky and bookish." Deal with it.

Boot Camp II
So, Reece has been at "boot camp" with Melissa Roberts for 2.5 weeks, and I went to see him this past Saturday, for the first time since I dropped him off there at the end of January.
He has 2 full weeks left, but I'm already so proud of him and pleased with how hard he's working and how much he is learning.
I don't expect a miracle after only 4.5 weeks (I can't afford anything more at this time), but he's getting a good start and already looks like a different horse (he just needs some serious muscle, but we'll be working on that all spring). I'm so excited! Eddie is going for the month of February, so I hope he steps up to the plate as well as Reece has. I love my boys!!!

Tragic
This is so, so sad. How does something like this just happen? How does someone just get hit by a train? Her daughter was found face down in a nearby creek about 50 yards away. Either this is a despicable accident that is just unbelievable, or someone is to blame. I hope they find out what really happened.

Weebles wobble
When my sister and I were little, we loved our inflatable Weeble (as shown in this picture from way-back-when). I still have a Weeble (it is the cowboy Weeble from my little Weeble Ghost Town playset). In fact, there is currently a running joke between my mom and sister regarding my little Weeble. My Weeble is sitting in an empty flowerpot on my front porch, just sitting there in the dirt, and my mom keeps asking me if I'm growing Weebles. I know it's dorky, but if you knew me and my sister, you'd know that we find that funny, and that we wish we could grow Weebles. They just don't make small, round, plastic toys (that are only slightly dangerous or possibly ingestible) like they used to.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride: Charleston
I'm trying not to laugh about this (it is really, REALLY not funny), but I can't think of this without seeing the hilarity of it as it may have been viewed by random passersby. I am sorry people were hurt. I'm pleased that no police charges are being filed (against the driver, the scared horse, or the carriage company). I think it is tragic, but if you were a carriage horse and your bridle came off, wouldn't you run for freedom, as well? I know those horses are well-cared for and that they get vacation time part of the year away from the city, but my horses don't like to work, and they don't work NEARLY as hard as the carriage horses do.

Strike!
I'm all for the scriptwriters getting their due, but this is ridiculous!!! I should be home tonight watching a new episode of "Pushing Daisies" (isn't Ned the CUTEST???), but instead, I'll be catching up on missed episodes of "Gossip Girl." I'm not really complaining, though. I heart "Gossip Girl" and I honestly just wanted an excuse to post that adorable picture here of Lee Pace. :)

Shameless?
Is it shameless to admit that I watch "Gossip Girl" and I enjoy it? Boy, that Blair is a real meanie!!! And, how cute are Serena and Dan??? Ok, I'm not quite that into it, but in watching the past few episodes (I have DVR'd them and am catching up, since there are no new "Pushing Daisies" on right now) I have picked up on the plot really quick (I'm v. smart like that) and they actually have some interesting music choices. Two bands that some of you may have heard of but I had not are The Pierces and Band of Horses. Good stuff. Anyway, some new music will give me something productive to consider while I ponder whether or not the cultural divide between Dan and Serena's families will tear them apart, or whether poor Nate will see the light and send Blair back into the arms of her perfectly equally evil soulmate, Chuck. And, is Lily really going to marry Chuck's father? How could she, when she still loves Rufus??? See...I'm not really that into it. Just a little bit into it. You believe, me...right?
